An American doctor who survived the deadly Ebola virus has been released again from the hospital after being re-admitted over the weekend, according to officials at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

Dr. Richard Sacra was successfully treated for Ebola at a hospital in Nebraska last month.

He was re-admitted Saturday and put in isolation as a precaution to be treated for an upper respiratory infection that doctors said was not related to Ebola. Sacra contracted the virus while working as a missionary in Liberia.

Sacra is one of four Americans who have been brought to the United States after being infected with the deadly virus since the outbreak began in West Africa.
