How Do You Learn Best? Look at Your Hands!

HOUSTON -- What if you were given a blueprint of your mind, with a map showing how you learn and what areas you are built to excel?

Based on multiple intelligence research by Harvard Professor Howard Gardner, a new testing system was formed called the "Innate Intellect Evaluation."

How it Works

Human behavior specialist and CEO of Like it Matters Scott Black has studied Gardner's intelligence research and is now helping others.

"Here's how the process works, I capture your fingerprints and within 24 to 48 hours I have a 36-page report that not only identifies eight intellects but how that person processes visually, auditorily, or kinesthetically," Black said.

There are five things that are unique to each human being: DNA, eye cornea, brain map, life experience, and fingerprints.

Human fingerprints form between week 13 and 21 of a baby's development in the womb. The unique designs in human fingers are connected to specific lobes of the brain. These determine how people learn and process information.

"God made a mimeograph, a copy, a ditto: each one of these prints on your finger is the exact map of the brain lobe that its connected to. Five fingers: five lobes," Black said.

Each lobe controls a specific type of learning skill. Through this testing, you can identify what areas of our brains are more dominant and active.

Learning Styles

Testing results could also be a tool for parents. By understanding how your kids learn and what environment they flourish in, parents can identify areas that require extra attention or where a child will excel.

Listed are the eight different learning styles you can possess:

  1. Linguistic - Learns best through reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
  2. Naturalist - Learns by working with nature and enjoys learning about living things and natural events.
  3. Musical/Rhythmic - Learns using rhythm or melody, especially by singing or listening to music...usually listening to music or hums while working or studying.
  4. Bodily/Kinesthetic - Learns best by touch and movement. Ideas often coming to mind when doing physical activity.
  5. Visual/Spatial - Also known as picture smart, learning best from pictures, diagrams, and other visual aids.
  6. Logical/Mathematical - Learns by classifying, categorizing, and thinking  about patterns, relationships, and numbers.
  7. Interpersonal - Learns through relating to others by sharing, comparing, and cooperating, making excellent group leaders and team players.
  8. Intrapersonal - Learns best by working alone and setting individual goals, usually independent and organized.

Put it to the Test

When CBN's Angela Zatopek put this testing system to her own brain, she discovered she scored highest as a "Visual-spatial" learner.

Currently, 2.4 million students are diagnosed with a learning disability, representing 41 percent of all students receiving special education.

Through this new testing, Black said you can identify how their brain is working, remove the learning disability, and find their learning style.

"We are working on getting people out of the old way of thinking. We have a belief system in this country that is really holding us back. Think about our education system: were falling behind in math, science," he said.

"The rest of the world is teaching the way people learn and America is a little bit behind so were bringing this to America," Black added.
