With Ebola fears mounting across the U.S., some are blaming the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for failing to do enough to protect Americans.

Some on the left, like Barbara Streisand, are blaming the Republican Party for the CDC's problems, saying GOP budget cuts are inhibiting the agency's ability to combat the crisis.

"If not for Republicans austere budget cuts, the NIH could have possibly had an Ebola vaccine by now," the Media Research Center quoted Streisand.

But critics say both the CDC and the National Institutes of Health have plenty of money and that the problem is they've wasted billions of dollars on outrageous projects.

A study by the Media Research Center highlights "15 Ways the NIH and CDC Wasted Taxpayer Money." It points out wasteful spending on bizarre studies involving everything from drunk monkeys to overweight lesbians.

Has the CDC really made it a priority to work on a vaccine for Ebola? Dan Gainor, vice president of Business and Culture at the Media Research Center, answered that question and more on CBN News Today.
