Burger King has quietly dropped sugary soft drinks from its kids' menu boards, and they aren't merchandised as part of Burger King kids' meals either.

USA Today reports that Burger King made the move last month under pressure from advocacy groups and after McDonald's and Wendy's took simillar actions in recent months.

Kids can still get soft drinks, but they aren't listed as options on the kids' meal menu.

USA Today points out big fast-food companies are trying to improve the quality of their foods because of growing demands from consumers and activists.

Sugary soft drinks are one of the top sources of calories for kids and can help lead to childhood obesity.
