CBNNews.com - Baikonur, KAZAKHSTAN - The Amos 3 communications satellite was successfully launched Monday morning from Kazakhstan, following a four-day delay.
After resolving a problem in the launching system that postponed its takeoff, the Amos 3 joined Amos 1 and 2 to enhance communications and broadcasting for the Middle East, Europe and America's East Coast.
Amos 3 will replace Amos 1, already in its twelfth year of service, a year more than originally planned.
Designed and built by Israel Aerospace Industries, Amos 3 is the most advanced communications satellite.
The $170-million satellite has an 18-year operating lifespan.
