CBNNews.com - NATANZ, Iran - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced Tuesday that 6,000 new centrifuges are being installed at the Natanz nuclear facility.
State-run television carried Ahmadinejad's announcement, seen as a slap in the face to the United Nations Security Council, which has issued three sets of sanctions, and bringing the Islamic republic closer to producing enough enriched uranium to build nuclear bombs.
The announcement, made as Ahmadinejad toured the plant at Natanz on the second anniversary of Iran's nuclear enrichment program, would be followed by additional information on the progress at Natanz, which he would announce later Tuesday--dubbed Iran's National Day of Nuclear Technology.
