CBNNews.com - JERUSALEM, Israel - "Facing Jihad," a conference organized by Israeli MK (member of Knesset) Arieh Eldad (Hatikva party) took place Monday at Jerusalem's Menachem Begin Center.

"Only a few weeks ago, the world learned another bloody lesson from Islam in Mumbai," Eldad told more than 600 conference participants.

"The true nature of Islam expressed itself again, as if we needed another lesson after 9/11, after London, after Madrid, after Russia, after Baghdad, after 90 years of bloody struggle against Islam in the land of Israel," he said.

Dutch legislator Geert Wilders, whose documentary, Fitna, was screened for the first time in Israel at the conference, echoed Eldad's words.

"As the terrorist attacks in Mumbai proved, there is no moderate Islam," Wilders told participants. "[The West] is in conflict with the Muslim faith at large," he said, describing Islam as a "totalitarian ideology" rather than a religion, "full of hate, violence and submission."

"Europe is in the process of 'Islamization,'" Wilders said. "We need to fight it. We have to win the war against Islam," he said. "If we don't…we will lose our cultural identity, our rule of law, our liberties and our freedom," Wilders said, drawing a standing ovation from conference participants.

"Not all cultures are equal," he said. "Our Judeo-Christian culture is far better than the Islamic culture," Wilders said.

The Dutch parliamentarian said the conflict with the Palestinians is ideological rather than territorial.

"Your fight against jihad ["holy" war] is our fight against jihad," Wilders said. "It's not a territorial conflict. It's an ideological conflict [in which Islam] "aims for dominance over non-Muslims."
