CBNNews.com - GOLAN HEIGHTS, Israel - Israel Defense Forces (IDF) troops stationed in the north have been put on heightened alert in anticipation of missile fire from Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon.
According to a report last week, Lebanese Army sappers destroyed eight Katytusha rockets aimed at Israel.
UNIFIL (United Nation) forces discovered the Katyushas in a forest near the town of Nakoura near the Lebanese coast.
IDF officials believe Palestinian groups in Lebanon, which fired rockets earlier this year at Kiryat Shmona and Shlomi in the north, were planning to show their solidarity with Hamas and other Palestinian terror groups in the Gaza Strip.
The eight missiles were equipped with timers set for 10:30 in the evening.
Besides protesting the Gaza operation, Hezbollah will mark the one-year anniversary of the assassination of its second in command, Imad Mughniyeh, in February.
The terror group blamed Israel for his death and warned that Israelis and Jewish institutions worldwide would taste Hezbollah's vengeance.
