CBNNews.com - The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Home Front Command launched a broadcast studio Wednesday.
The $1.3 million studio is located next door to the Home Front Command headquarters near the city of Ramle in the center of the country.
The studio will provide essential information to the civilian population during wartime.
"I hope we will never need to use this studio," said Major General Yair Golan at the inauguration ceremony. "But in the light of the dangers threatening Israel, it would likely be best if we were proficient in operating it," he said.
When the need presents itself, the studio will broadcast on Channel 33, though it has the authority and technology to interrupt programming on Israel's other channels.
