CBNNews.com - GAZA STRIP - A Palestinian group, calling itself "Soldiers of God," said criminals like Middle East envoy Tony Blair are not welcome in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement posted on al-Hesbah, an Islamist Web site used by a number of terror groups, "Soldiers of God" denounced Hamas, the ruling Palestinian faction in Gaza, for its willingness to receive Blair.
"It is inconceivable that the Islamist movement could host one of the pillars of the war against Muslims," the statement read.
"Oh jund Allah [soldiers of Allah], we want deeds, not words. The enemy of Allah will be at Beit Lahiya [an Arab town in northern Gaza] for three hours tomorrow. We want actions, not words," the group proclaimed.
On Tuesday, Ruti Winterstein, a spokeswoman for Blair, said the trip was canceled due to specific security warnings received by the Shin Bet (General Security Agency) that Blair's convoy would be attacked when it reached the Erez Crossing.
Hamas spokesman Ismail Radwan said they had made "all the necessary security measures for Mr. Blair's visit," blaming Israel for the cancellation.
