CBNNews.com - RAMALLAH, West Bank - Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah party plans to arrest 200 Hamas supporters in the West Bank, after Hamas detained 200 Fatah members in Gaza, following a bombing there.
On Friday, an explosion outside a cafeteria in Gaza City killed five Hamas operatives and a young girl. Hamas officials said evidence at the explosion site suggested Fatah was responsible. Abbas denies his party's involvement.
An estimated 200 Fatah supporters and members of the Army of Islam (a terror group linked to al-Qaeda), were arrested over the weekend in Gaza.
Palestinian officials in the West Bank (Judea and Samaria) began arresting Hamas supporters Sunday evening.
Internal strife between the two rival Palestinian factions is expected to spread from Gaza to the West Bank before Egypt's President Mubarak invites the Palestinian factions for another round of reconciliation talks in the coming weeks.
