CBNNews.com - CENTRAL LEBANON - An Azerbaijan news agency reported early this week that Iran and Syria are assisting Hezbollah's ability to track jet aircraft.
According to the report, Iran and Syria are helping to install advanced radar units atop Mr. Sannine in central Lebanon, designed to track Israeli planes as far west as the Mediterranean Sea and as far east as Damascus.
Israeli defense officials have not confirmed the report but say it is likely Syria helped Hezbollah by providing the units and helping with the installation.
Israel Defense Forces (IDF) officials also said they are aware of Hezbollah's efforts to track Israeli aircraft in the event of another war. Iran also provides training for Hezbollah terrorists.
In a related story, the Israel Air Force (IAF) recently tested anti-aircraft-missile systems over the island of Crete, and identical systems are believed to be used in Iran.
