CBNNews.com - JERUSALEM, Israel - Major General (res.) Uzi Dayan plans to announce that he's joining the Likud party.
On Tuesday, Likud chairman and opposition leader Binyamin Netanyahu and Dayan will hold a press conference to announce the general's decision.
Dayan served as commander of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) elite Sayeret Matkal.
During his military career, he also served as head of the Central Command and as IDF deputy chief of general staff.
Later, as head of the National Security Council, Dayan called for Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's resignation after the publication of the Winograd Commission's findings on the government's handling of the Second Lebanon War in the summer of 2006.
