CBNNews.com - JERUSALEM, Israel - Two thousand city policemen and Border Guards will man Jerusalem's streets Thursday afternoon and evening to deter any violence to the homosexual "pride" parade in the heart of the city.
Posters mounted throughout Jerusalem by ultra-Orthodox residents call on Jerusalemites "to commit their souls" to protesting the parade, which some have called an "abomination parade," scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
Jerusalem councilman Sa'ar Netanel, a professing homosexual and one of the leaders of the movement in the city, received an envelope containing an unidentified white power and an article about the march.
"I am used to these threats because of the Gay Pride parade," he said.
The annual march is organized by Open House, a gathering place for the homosexual, lesbian, bisexual and transvestite population.
Again this year, the High Court denied a petition to disallow the Jerusalem march.
