CBNNews.com - JERUSALEM, Israel - A survey conducted by YNet news and Gesher, an educational organization, revealed that 53 percent of Israelis believe the Bible provides an accurate history of the Jewish people.

Respondents were asked to choose their favorite biblical account. Creation (Gen. 1) nudged out the story of Joseph and his brothers (Gen. 36-50) by 1 percentage point.

Third place went to story of the Exodus (Ex. 14-16), while the "sacrifice" of Isaac (Gen. 22) and the giving of the Torah (law) at Mt. Sinai (Ex. 18-20) tied for fourth.

Fifth place was also a tie between Noah's ark and the flood (Gen. 6-9) and Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden (Gen. 2-3).

Sixth, seventh and eighth places, respectively, went to the 12 spies sent to explore Canaan (Num. 13), the Tower of Babel (Gen. 11) and the sin of the golden calf (Ex. 32).
