CBNNews.com - EGYPTIAN SINAI - Egyptian officials announced the discovery of seven smuggling tunnels north of the Rafah border crossing with the Gaza Strip.
According to Egyptian sources, the tunnels were being used to pump fuel to the Strip, taken over by the Hamas terror group in June 2007.
Security forces also discovered stacks of hashish and an arms and ammunition cache in the central Sinai, reportedly left during the 1967 Six Day War.
Last week, Gaza-based Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh said the group had no intention of halting arms smuggling though it is one of the terms of the cease-fire.
"We cannot talk about stopping smuggling because it is something beyond our ability as a government and we did not give a commitment in this regard," Haniyeh told Muslims before Friday prayers at a Gaza City mosque.
