CBNNews.com - TEHERAN - An Iranian court sentenced one of its citizens to death Monday for allegedly spying for Israel.
According to FARS, Iran's state news agency, Ali Ashstari, 45, "relayed sensitive information on military, defense and research centers" to Israeli Mossad agents and was paid for his services.
The court accused Astari, who sells electronic devices to military, security and defense centers, of "jeopardizing Iranian security."
According to an official in Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, Astari tried to set up links between Iranians technical experts and Israeli agents.
Astari's attorneys have 20 days to appeal the verdict.
