CBNNews.com - JERUSALEM, Israel - A report on the content of Palestinian textbooks published between 2000 and 2006 shows little change in the way Jews are vilified.
Jews are referred to as snakes, schemers and killers.
The study, conducted jointly by the Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School Education and the American Jewish Committee, examined 120 PA textbooks.
According to Arnon Groiss, author of "Palestinian Textbooks: From Arafat to Abbas and Hamas," most of the school books, from first through tenth grade, do not relate any historical Jewish presence in ancient Israel, nor do the textbooks' maps show the modern State of Israel.
In textbooks published since Mahmoud Abbas became head of the Palestinian Authority, two maps appear showing the State of Israel within pre-1967 borders, minus Judea and Samaria (the West Bank), east Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip and the Golan Heights.
These textbooks also include brief discussions of Jewish history in the region.
The Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) has done extensive research on the content of PA textbooks.
