CBNNew.com - GAZA STRIP - A nine-year-old girl was killed when an Israeli tank opened fire on Palestinian terrorists launching rockets into Israel from an Arab village east of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip.

Dr. Moaiya Hassanain of the Palestinian Health Ministry said two other villagers were injured.

According to an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman, soldiers opened fire at Palestinian gunmen attempting to launch Kassam rockets into southern Israel.

The spokesman said the IDF was not aware of any civilian casualties.

Palestinian terrorists regularly choose built-up residential areas from which to launch rockets and mortar shells, knowing that Israel will be blamed for any civilian casualties.

Wednesday's incident took place near the launch pad where Palestinians fired 30 mortar shells into Israel Tuesday.
