CBNNews.com - TEL AVIV, Israel - In a joint decision by the Defense and Transportation ministries, airspace around Israel's Ben-Gurion International Airport will be expanded.
The expanded airspace will allow use of the ALS ground radar system, providing pilots with a better view of their surroundings for difficult landings.
The decision follows the publication of the Lepidot Commission's Report, released in January, which recommended increasing the airspace to enhance airport safety.
"The Transportation Ministry and the Israeli Airports Authority are working quickly and efficiently to implement the recommendations of the Lepidot Commission," said Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz.
