CBNNews.com - In a rare expression of solidarity with Israel, a Kuwaiti newspaper condemned last week's attack on Jerusalem's Mercaz HaRav yeshiva (religious seminary).
"The attack at the yeshiva was a barbaric murder of eight children who were engaged in religious study. This odious and inhuman terror attack exemplifies the extremist and inhuman path of the terror organizations of Hamas and Hezbollah," read an article in the Kuwaiti daily al-Watan.
"The terror attack must prompt the free world to comprehend the magnitude of terrorism and its threats and to realize that a clear and unequivocal stance must be assumed against it. There can be no negotiations with terrorism that indiscriminately aims itself at students, women and babies without any consideration for the means and the targets," the article read.
"There is no link between a murderous terror act and the inadvertent killing of civilians in response to the firing of rockets by Hamas," the piece concluded.
Al-Watan's op-ed piece was a refreshing and encouraging article, particularly in view of the way most of the Arab press evaluated last week's terror attack that killed eight students, most of them teenagers, and wounded 12 others.
