Article: Holocaust 'scientifically impossible'

Ad Feedback - TEHRAN, Iran - Press TV, a 24-hour Iranian news channel, published an article on their Web site claiming that the Holocaust was "scientifically impossible."

Entitled, "The Walls of Auschwitz," the article was written by Nicholas Kollerstrom, an academic who was recently fired by University College London after remarking that there were never any gas chambers at Auschwitz.

"The alleged massacre of Jewish people by gassing during World War II was scientifically impossible," Kollerstrom argues in his article. Kollerstrom specializes in astrology and crop circles.

The Iranian government established Press TV last year to provide "unbiased" reporting and "in-depth and complete analyses of current affairs." The vision statement for Press TV also includes "embracing and building bridges of cultural understanding; encouraging human beings of different nationalities, races and creeds to identify with one another."

Despite protest from a Jewish organization, the article remains on the site. The article is also hosted on the Web site operated by the Committee for Open Debate on the Holocaust, which promotes the work of other Holocaust deniers.

In another article, titled "The Auschwitz 'Gas Chamber' Illusion," Kollerstrom argues that only a million Jews died in the war and that "the only intentional mass extermination program in the concentration camps of World War Two was targeted at Germans."

Mark Gardner, director of communications at the Community Security Trust, said the article on Press TV should come as no surprise because the government sponsors both the Holocaust denial and Press TV. Community Security Trust provides security and representation for British Jews to police, government and media on anti-Semitic and related matters.

"Press TV has the façade of a respectable media outlet, but this shows them for what they really are," Gardner added.
