Guard Shoots Driver at School Entrance

Ad Feedback - JERUSALEM, Israel - A security guard shot and seriously wounded a taxi driver who tried to ram the gate of a girl's high school.

The incident took place in Dolev, a small community about halfway between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, in the western Binyamin region.

The guard said the cab arrived shortly after 10:00 p.m. After the driver refused to stop for a security check, he tried to run him over and ram the gate.

At that point, the guard shot him. According to Israel radio, the driver's companion fled the scene.

The driver was transported to a hospital by helicopter.

Police are questioning the guard and an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldier who was on the scene, along with a 16-year-old girl from Bnei Brak, who was in the taxi.
