JERUSALEM, Israel - Likud party chairman Binyamin Netanyahu welcomed former Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball player Tal Brody to the party at a press conference on Tuesday.
"Tal put basketball on the map and he will help put Likud on the map once more," Netanyahu told reporters.
Well known for his part in the team's 1977 win over CSKA Moscow in the 1977 Euroleague semifinals, Brody will participate in an open forum Tuesday evening, along with three other former Americans running on the Likud's Knesset List.
Besides Brody, the forum features Yechiel Leiter, who served as Netanyahu's chief of staff; Danny Seaman, former Government Press Office director; and Yossi Fuchs, co-chairman of the Legal Forum for the Land of Israel.
