RAMALLAH, West Bank - Nobel Peace Prize laureate Mairead Maguire called on the United Nations to suspend or revoke Israel's membership in the United Nations.
At a press conference Thursday, Maguire said Israel should be punished for ignoring U.N. resolutions over the years and called on the nations of the world to take action against the Jewish state.
Maguire is touring cities under Palestinian Authority control in Judea and Samaria (the West Bank).
Last month, Maguire sailed to the Gaza Strip with the Free Gaza Movement to protest Israel's closure of the border crossings. While in Gaza City, the group met with Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh.
