Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers arrested a Palestinian attempting to smuggle a pipe bomb into Israel.
Soldiers discovered the explosive device at the Taysir checkpoint, south of the Palestinian Authority- (PA) controlled city of Jenin.
IDF sappers detonated the bomb in a controlled explosion, and the Arab transporter was taken in for questioning.
Two weeks ago, soldiers found a pipe bomb on a Palestinian teen from Nablus, who was attempting to enter Israel at the Hawara checkpoint.
A recent operation by the Shin Bet (General Security Agency) and the IDF uncovered a four-member terror cell in the PA-controlled city of Kalkilya, south of Jenin.
Two 45-pound bombs to be used in terror attacks were confiscated during the operation.
