HEBRON, Israel - Palestinian Authority security forces discovered a smuggling tunnel beneath a shop in Hebron, which Israel Defense Forces soldiers destroyed.
While no weapons or explosives were found in the tunnel, the IDF is trying to learn if the 328-foot-long tunnel was intended for weapons smuggling, like the tunnels under the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt.
Meanwhile, IDF troops fired on three Palestinians preparing to firebomb Israeli vehicles traveling toward the Jewish community of Beit El in Samaria. One of the three, a teenager, was killed and the other two managed to escape, though they had been wounded.
Soldiers found 10 firebombs (Molotov cocktails) next to the teenager's body.
Earlier in the day, soldiers arrested two Palestinians armed with five pipe bombs and explosives at a checkpoint.
