JERUSALEM, Israel - Religious youth threw stones at cars, set dumpsters ablaze, and beat up Arab cab drivers in the ultra-Orthodox Jerusalem neighborhood of Mea Shearim Tuesday night, Israel Radio reported.
The violence comes on the heels of riots in the northern coastal city of Akko, which began on Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) and continued sporadically for nearly two weeks afterward.
According to Israel Radio, police have yet to arrest anyone from last night's rioting, but on Sunday, three Jewish youth were taken into custody after a sanitation truck was pelted with rocks on Bar-Ilan Street, injuring the Arab driver.
In a separate incident Sunday, six Arabs were injured in fighting with Haredi youth.
