CBNNews.com - NEW YORK CITY - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told the U.N. General Assembly Tuesday that Israel won't be around much longer.
"Today, the Zionist regime is on a definite slope to collapse and there is no way for it to get out of the cesspool created by itself and its supporters," he said.
But Israel's wasn't the only nation collapsing, according to Ahmadinejad. America is also near its end, he said.
"[The] American empire in the world is reaching the end of its road and its next rulers must limit their interference to their own borders," he said.
"The great Iranian people will resist the bullying and…will defend its rights. The Iranian nation is for dialogue, but it has not accepted and will not accept illegal demands," he said, referring to the country's nuclear aspirations.
At an hour-long press conference following his speech, Ahmadinejad lauded the U.N. for giving him the opportunity to speak.
"The podium given to us by the U.N. is a great opportunity," he told reporters.
