CBNNews.com - JERUSALEM, Israel - Israeli security officials are concerned over Democratic vice presidential candidate Senator Joe Biden's position on Iran.
On Monday, Army Radio revealed remarks the senator made in private conversations to Israeli officials during a visit three years ago.
According to the report, Biden told the officials that Israelis would have to "come to terms" with a nuclear Iran.
Biden said he didn't think economic sanctions against the Islamic Republic would accomplish anything and he said Iraq and North Korea were more pressing concerns for the US than Iran.
The remarks cast doubt on Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama's recent statement that world governments should press Iran to abandon its nuclear program so Israel doesn't feel its "back against the wall."
"The position of the vice presidential candidate puts a huge question mark over the degree of empathy the Obama administration would display concerning one of the greatest threats Israel faces," the officials said.
