CBNNews.com - JERUSALEM, Israel - Following 10 specific terror warnings, Defense Minister Ehud Barak ordered a full closure of Judea and Samaria (the West Bank), beginning Monday morning, as Israel police went on high alert, Army Radio reported.
Besides the 10 specific terror threats, the IDF received literally dozens of general warnings from terror groups planning to carry out attacks over the Jewish holiday.
High on the list this year are threats both from Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and those in Judea and Samaria to kidnap Israeli soldiers and civilians.
Only humanitarian and/or medical emergencies will be allowed through the checkpoints.
On Monday at 6:00 a.m., security forces began deploying along the Seam Line and in and around Jerusalem, particularly in heavily trafficked areas, including the Kotel (Western wall), parks, cemeteries, synagogues, etc.
Following security assessments Wednesday evening, the closure will be lifted until erev Yom Kippur (the day of Atonement), which this year begins on Wednesday evening, October 9.
