CBNNews.com - RAMALLAH, West Bank - Palestinian Authority (PA) officials were very pleased with Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni's win over Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz in the Kadima party primaries.
As foreign minister, Livni has played a key role in negotiations with the Palestinians as head of the Israeli delegation.
"We'll work with anyone," a senior PA official told YNet news. "But it's no secret that working with Livni will be much easier," he said.
"She knows her stuff so there's no need to start from scratch with her. We hope very much that she'll be able to put together a coalition so we can continue to negotiate," he said.
The content of the frequent meetings between the Israeli and Palestinian negotiating teams has not been disclosed.
Livni has joined in press conferences with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice during her visits to the region, but very little substantive information has been shared with the public.
