CBNNews.com - JERUSALEM, Israel - Israeli citizens living in Samaria (the West Bank) are preparing to fight government efforts to evict them from their homes and communities.
New citizens committees are working to prevent an evacuation such as took place in August 2005, when the government bulldozed 21 Jewish communities in the Gush Katif Settlement Bloc in the Gaza Strip and four in northern Samaria, expelling 10,000 Israelis from their homes.
On Monday evening, 100 leaders of Jewish communities signed the "Samaria Pact," vowing to stand their ground against a regional evacuation.
Among the signatories is Dani Dayan, head of the Council of Jewish Communities of Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip (Yesha Council), who has lived in Samaria for more than 20 years.
