CBNNews.com - ARAVA CROSSING, Israel - Israeli customs officials at the Arava border crossing discovered a weapons cache concealed in a Jordanian truck.
Officials believe the hidden weapons were being delivered to the Palestinian Authority, though the exact parties awaiting the shipment have yet to be revealed.
The incident took place three weeks ago, when the supply truck arrived at the border crossing.
Customs officials, suspecting something was amiss, decided to remove metal platforms on the truck in spite of the driver's assurances that the platforms were there for work purposes.
Firemen were summoned to saw open the platforms. After discovering a gun wrapped in a towel in the first platform to be opened, the remaining compartments were opened.
In the end, customs officials seized 20 FM handguns, 20 Glock handguns, six M16 automatic rifles, electric shockers and 23 loaded magazines.
According to YNet news, the same alert customs officials prevented some 5 kilograms more than 11 pounds) of narcotics from being smuggled into Israel.
