RAMALLAH - A Palestinian Authority (PA) tribunal held a six-hour hearing of a citizen to be charged with treason for selling land to Jews.
PA officials said if convicted of treason, he would be sentenced to death.
According to Hatem Abdel Kader, PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad's senior advisor on Jerusalem affairs, Palestinian investigators are looking into what they believe are dozens of land sales to Jews.
Abdel Kader said the prosecution's investigations are focusing on an estimated 13,000 dunams (3,212 acres) of land in and around Jerusalem.
Fayyad's advisor said any Arab found guilty of selling land to Jews should be executed.
