CBNNews.com - JERUSALEM, Israel - During Israel's recent three-week military incursion in the Gaza Strip, Hamas terrorists transformed medicine bottles, provided in humanitarian aide shipments, into grenades, The Jerusalem Post reported Friday.
According to JPost, Hamas fighters had several seconds in which to hurl the explosive-laden bottles at soldiers. Hamas also used syringes to hold fuses.
IDF military explosives specialists have been studying the "medical grenades," discovered in northern Gaza during Operation Cast Lead.
"This is yet another example of Hamas's cynical use of humanitarian supplies to attack Israel," one Defense Ministry official said.
"Israel facilitates the transfer of supplies to the Gaza Strip, and Hamas uses the supplies to create weapons," he said.
Some of the improvised explosive devices (IEDs) that IDF troops encountered during the incursion were fitted with advanced wireless detonators.
