CBNNews.com - JERUSALEM, Israel - A report issued by Israeli Military Intelligence and the coordinator of government activities in the territories confirmed that two-thirds of the Palestinians killed during the three-week military operation in the Gaza Strip were terrorists.
Of the 1,134 Palestinian fatalities, only 288 were noncombatants, Israel's Channel 2 news reported.
The statistics include the Hamas police cadets killed during an air strike at the beginning of the incursion.
Hamas's claims of high civilian casualties among the 1,330 fatalities, whose identities they have refused to provide, was picked up and reported by news agencies as reliable information.
In addition to ordering its gunmen to fight out of uniform, Hamas employed a variety of other tactics to distort the identities of those killed in the fighting, instead reporting that Israeli troops were targeting the civilian population.
