IDF Discovers Strategic Hamas Map

CBNNews.com - GAZA STRIP - Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Paratrooper's Brigade soldiers discovered a map detailing Hamas's strategy in the northern Gaza town of al-Atatra.

"Inside the map, the terrorists marked sniper positions, as well as the location of roadside bombs, anti-tank bombs and landmines," Brigadier General Yuval Halamish, IDF chief intelligence officer, explained.

The handwritten map, which exposed the terror group's use of human shields, was translated in the field, providing soldiers with information that saved both Israeli and Palestinian lives.

"This is a civilian area and you can see on the map how Hamas booby-trapped the entrances to homes in order to hit the IDF," the general said.

The map showed a large bomb next to a gas station. Had Hamas gunmen succeeded in detonating it, many civilians would have been killed.

Another bit of creative terrorism was an explosives-laden mannequin, dressed like a soldier, at the entrance of a house.

The plan entailed luring soldiers to their "comrade," detonating the mannequin, which would blow a hole in the floor through which soldiers would fall into a tunnel below, where terrorists waited to kidnap them.
