CBNNews.com - GAZA STRIP - The 'Iranian Unit' of Hamas, whose members were trained by Iran's Revolutionary Guards, has been destroyed, according to Palestinian sources.

Most of the unit's 100 men, some trained in Iran and others in Hezbollah enclaves in Lebanon's Beka'a Valley, were killed by IDF (Israel Defense Forces) troops in Gaza City's Zeytun neighborhood.

Most of the men reentered the Gaza Strip through the smuggling tunnels.

Others returned during one of times that Egypt opened the Rafah border crossing as a "goodwill" gesture to Hamas.

According to the same Palestinian sources, quoted by the Israeli daily Haaretz, Iran is instructing Hamas to end the fighting with the IDF at this time.

Iran has assured senior Hamas officials that it will provide money and resources to rebuild the group's military capabilities and infrastructure destroyed during the Gaza operation.
