CBNNews.com - ANKARA, Turkey - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Allah would punish Israel for its "crimes against humanity" in the Gaza Strip.
"Allah will sooner or later punish those who transgress the rights of innocents," Erdogan said as he wrapped up a week of visits in Egypt, Syria, Jordan and Saudi Arabia to discuss the Israeli operation against the Hamas terror group in Gaza.
Erdogan said that starting the operation just four days after Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert met with him, Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul and President Ali Babacan in Ankara showed "disrespect" for Turkey.
Meanwhile, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moualem was in Ankara Monday to discuss the Gaza operation with Turkey's president, prime minister and foreign minister.
Last week, Babacan announced that Turkey was withdrawing from its role as mediator for indirect talks between Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Syrian President Bashar Assad.
