CBNNews.com - JERUSALEM, Israel - Russian news agencies confirmed that Russia has signed a deal to sell S-300 air-defense missiles to Iran.
Russia, which repeatedly denied providing the Islamic Republic with the missiles, has been vague about having signed a contract for the deal.
According to an unnamed government official from the Federal Military-Technical Cooperation Service, quoted in three Russian news agencies, Russia signed the contract two years ago.
Efforts by Israel to prevent the sale, which would change the military balance in the region, have proven ineffective.
The S-300 would complicate a military strike on Iran's nuclear facilities.
