Iran's president warned over the weekend that an attack on his country will mean the end of Israel.
"Any offensive against Iran means the annihilation of the Zionist entity," President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Sunday. "Iran does not care much about this entity because it is on its way to decay."
Iran's leader added that he doubted the Jewish state would make such a move since "they know that Iran is ready and has the potential for a decisive and wide-scale response."
Ahmadinejad made his remarks during a visit to during a visit to the Persian Gulf nation of Qatar, where he was seeking to gain the support of the other Gulf nations. He assured the Arab countries they would not be targeted if a conflict did break out.
