Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee says the problem in the Middle East is deeper than the unrest and anti-government protests taking place in the region.
Huckabee returned Thursday from a private trip to Israel. He said the Obama administration's foreign policy has Israelis on edge.
"What we now have is an administration, the Obama administration, that spends more time condemning Israel for building bedrooms in their own neighborhoods than they do for Iran building bombs aimed at both Israel and the United States," Huckabee said. "This is insane."
"And we're putting so much pressure on the Israelis to give up what little, tiny pieces of land they have in order that their sworn enemies could inhabit it, and get even that much closer to the children of Israeli families," he continued.
"This is a policy that is inexplicable, very dangerous, very naïve and it has the Israelis quite unnerved," he said.
Huckabee, who's expected to seek a bid in the 2012 presidential election, has visited Israel 15 times.
