Israel's Holocaust memorial, the Yad Vashem, has launched a Farsi-language version of its YouTube channel in an effort to educate the Iranian people about the holocaust.
The Farsi version, announced on Sunday, is designed to counter the Iranian government's denial of the holocaust.
Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has called the Nazi genocide of 6 million Jews a myth and hosted a conference questioning whether it took place. He has also said Israel should be "wiped off the map."
Meanwhile, the chairman of the Yad Vashem expressed the hope that the website will help viewers set aside politics and connect with the holocaust on a personal level.
Yad Vashem already has YouTube channels in English, Hebrew, Arabic, Russian and Spanish.
