Muslim nations are backing calls for a September vote in the United Nation's to recognize a Palestinian state.
If approved, CBN News Middle East Bureau Chief Chris Mitchell says that would put "a great deal of pressure" on Israel, and could lead to sanctions and even use of force against the Jewish State.
"If they see Israel as the occupying power in the West Bank, which is where they're looking at creating a Palestinian state, then it could have the backing of the United Nations," Mitchell said, explaining the power the Palestinian Authority would have.
Because of the "somewhat obscure" U.N. Resolution 77, Mitchell said the Palestinian state approval "could happen."
