As Israel's prime minister prepares to visit the U.S. to rally opposition to U.N. recognition of a Palestinian state, conservative leaders are launching an ad campaign to show their support for Israel.
In an open letter titled "Israel, You're Not Alone," more than four dozen leaders welcomed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to America.
"We want Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the people of Israel to know that they are not alone. Millions of Americans stand with them in unwavering support for their sovereignty, safety, and security," the letter stated.
The missive, published in both the Wall Street Journal and The Jerusalem Post, is also being followed up with television advertisements.
"This is what happens in Israel when they give away land for peace... Explosions," the television ad says. "Don't let Hamas move their rockets any closer to innocent Israeli families."
The campaign comes as the Obama administration is pushing Israel to renew peace talks with the Palestinians.
But Netanyahu believes peace is impossible now that the Palestinian Authority has joined forces with the terrorist group Hamas.
Palestinian leaders have united in order to petition the U.S. to declare unilaterally a Palestinian state in September.
