Four people were injured when a car bomb exploded in Tel Aviv Thursday.

The car was positioned near a bus. Early reports indicate a motorcyclist was involved in placing the bomb.

The attack took place close to the site of a bus bombing in November.

It is not clear who was behind the bombing. Incidents like this always raise fears of terrorism because Israel has a long history of bus bombings by Palestinian terrorists.

Israeli police believe the attack was a criminally motivated assassination attempt. But a police spokesman said he couldn't confirm Israeli media reports that the target was a well-known underworld figure.
