JERUSALEM, Israel -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated that the Palestinian national movement is directly linked to Adolf Hitler's Nazi regime.
Israel National News reported he made that statement again in a speech at Bar Ilan University this week.
Netanyahu said Israel's conflict with the Palestinians is not really about land disputes, it's about the Arab refusal to accept Israel's right to exist as the Jewish nation-state.
He said that ideology began long ago when the Palestinian Grand Mufti Haj Amin al-Husseini worked with the Nazis to try to annihilate the Jews.
Al-Husseini later hand-picked a family relative named Yassir Arafat to be his successor to lead the Palestinian movement.
Netanyahu pointed out that Palestinians still revere the grand mufti to this day. The Palestinian-Nazi connection is a point he has made several times in the past.
