Ceasefire Talks Resume, Hamas Holds Rocket Fire

JERUSALEM, Israel -- Hamas has once again stopped firing rockets at Israel as another ceasefire went into effect.

The terror group launched multiple rocket salvos at Israel all weekend long after an earlier ceasefire expired early Friday morning, provoking retaliatory airstrikes.

With the second 72-hour ceasefire holding since midnight Sunday, the Israeli delegation returned to Cairo on Monday morning.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed that Israel would not participate in Egyptian-mediated ceasefire talks under rocket fire.

Israeli Finance Minister Yair Lapid said the ball is now in Hamas' court.

"Why is it that Hamas is declining to renounce terror?" Lapid asked. "In order to get peace, rehabilitation, and the removal of the siege from his people, Hamas only needs to do one thing and one thing only and that is to renounce terror. Why is it that they don't?"

Meanwhile ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, also known as IS), which has killed or driven out thousands of Christians from their homes in Iraq, said it has already joined the fight in the Gaza Strip against Israel.
