JERUSALEM, Israel -- Hamas' military wing executed 18 Palestinians Friday morning for allegedly collaborating with Israel.

According to media reports, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades carried out the public executions near police headquarters in Gaza City, with at least two Hamas-linked websites, al-Rai and al-Majd, posting stories on the event.

Three Palestinians were shot to death Thursday and seven others arrested on suspicion of collaborating with Israel, al-Majd reported, while an unspecified number of suspects were killed on August 6.

Seven of the victims were lined up behind a mosque with bags over their heads and shot in front of hundreds of people.

The executions follow the IDF's successful targeting of three top Hamas commanders on Thursday.

It's still unconfirmed whether senior commander Mohammed Deif died with members of his family Wednesday night in a targeted strike on his home in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in Gaza City. Hamas claims Deif survived the attack, but it has not provided any proof that he's still alive.

The last week of July, more than 30 residents of Gaza were killed for alleged collaboration, Arutz Sheva reported.
